Very conveniently we may describe our time as an internet era for the reason that it has been marked by such enormous developments
which could never have been imagined just few years back. Almost every aspect of life has been digitalised from purchasing travelling
tickets to procuring food packets, medicine, and even medical advice, ensuring the security of house, transforming the mode of
livelihood, and what not. More so, the life has become globalised, it has brought the people closer irrespective of geographical distance
or detachments.
With this, behavioural changes have also been witnessed in the contemporary society. Along with facilitating the transfer of
information regarding the knowledge, both technological and general, equally, it has generated possibilities for the commission of new
genre of crimes, known as Cyber crime.
Cyber crime may be defined as criminal activities carried out by means of computers or internet and it includes the transformation of
criminal activities in virtual world, particularly computer integrity crime (such as, hacking, cracking and denial of services), computer
assisted crime (namely, cyber fraud and cyber terrorism, cyber laundering), computer content crime (for instance, pornography, cyber
stalking, voyeurism offensive communication pornography) and so on so forth.
Authors have made every effort to enthuse the readers to go through the book and feel enlightened to delve into various aspects of the

the relevant provisions of laws, particularly, the provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000 amended in 2008. Suggestions
have also been made for improvement at the appropriate places.
In view of above, the editor of this book very humbly hopes that it will be useful not only to those who are learned in law, law students
