About the Books:
The book ‘Law at the Crossroads: Jurisprudential Rendition’ revisits the exploration of jurisprudential changes arising in the contemporary information age, where law and society interact and mutually influence each other. Changes in legislative frameworks trigger social reorganisation, while social movements prompt reinterpretation of governing statutes.
The book endeavors to address novel legal issues emerging from the shift to the online work environment. The transition to online work has disrupted traditional household dynamics which has led to increased instances of domestic violence. Similarly, the increased internet and social media usage among the female population, who were earlier non-engaged or causally engaged due to non-availability or lack of skills, has resulted in a rise in cyber harassment incidents.
The book also delves into the evolution and changes in pedagogy of teaching and learning during the pandemic. It also discusses the changes in the proceedings of the courts during the pandemic. While traditional methods of education and trial procedures are returning, the adaptations made during the pandemic have permanently altered education and justice administration systems. Online information exchange has gained lasting acceptance. Beyond these aspects, the book also delves into various other issues stemming from the interface of the information age with the traditional way of conducting daily affairs and the fault lines between the two ways became deeply exposed during the pandemic.
It is hoped that the book will serve as a valuable resource for students and scholars seeking to understand and address the legal complexities arising from this transition. By examining the legal consequences of transitioning to the information age, especially amid pandemic-induced constraints, the book contributes to the expanding literature aimed at comprehending and addressing these transformations.
