About the Editors
Dr. Navneet Sharma is a renowned scientist in pharmaceutical chemistry, biomaterials, and contamination sciences. He holds an M. Pharm from JSS University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Drug Regulatory Affairs from Jamia Hamdard, and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Delhi. His doctoral work at INMAS (DRDO) focused on developing topical formulations for chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) skin decontamination, incorporating toxicological assessments and cellular studies.
Dr. Sharma’s postdoctoral research at IIT Delhi led to the development of zinc titanate-based biodegradable materials for CBRN decontamination, integrating nanomaterials for improved efficacy and sustainability. He also spearheaded a DST-funded COVID-19 project that produced antiviral coatings effective against SARS-CoV-2 and H1N1, leading to two patents and successful technology transfer. His innovations earned him the SCO Best Innovation Award (2020) and DST Young Scientist Awards (2018, 2022).
With over fifty publications, five edited books, and ten patents—five of which have been licensed—Dr. Sharma’s contributions to biomaterial-based drug delivery and wound healing continue to impact healthcare and defense sectors. He has been awarded fellowships and grants from CSIR, DRDO, ICMR, INSA, and others.
Professor Mallika Pathak is a leading academic at Miranda House, University of Delhi. Her research focuses on molecular modeling, drug-molecule interactions, and water remediation. She has published extensively, contributed to international collaborations, and holds multiple patents.
Professor Pathak has received numerous honors, including the Australian Leadership Award Fellowship (2013), ‘Most Promising Innovation’ (2016), and the ‘Teaching Excellence Award for Innovation’ (2015) from the University of Delhi.
